Safety concern after unresolved bullying incident

On Sunday 15/05/2022 in the morning I was harassed by a fellow memeber which I brought to attention of the manager Chandre, when she spoke to the both of us the fellow member was arrogant to a point where he used the F........ word whilst addressing me in the presence of the manager. He continued to verbally abuse me in the stairs through the reception area till parking in the presence of other members and the manager. I was terrified and thought he would physically assault me.

What concerns me is that the manager never called me to check on how I am even though I left my numbers, I even called same day to follow up and I was informed she will get back to me. I no longer feel safe at the gym and feels my life is in danger. Planet fitness has not taken any action against the member in question.

How am I supposed to go to the gym when I don't feel safe and that I matter as a member. I have only been with the gym for under months and I regret ever joining. The gym has clear rules and regulations pertaining to verbal abuse, hostility, harassment yet not implemented. The fact that the fellow member conducted himself in this manner infront of myself, management and other members and nothing was done and I was not checked on after that traumatic incident leave a lot to be desired. In all my years of gymming it's my first time experiencing such from a gym. This member acted like there is nothing the gym can do about it and the manager never called him to order. She just kept quiet. I was left traumatised on my own and didn't feel like I matter.

Already as it is I am going through so much including the grief of having lost two family members. Gym was the only place where I distressed and cleared my mind. This has really affected me mentally and emotionally. The inaction of Planet fitness and the manager Chandre left me disempowered
