Platness Fitness only cares about money!
After seeing all the bad comments, I'm happy to know that I'm not the only one who has had a bad experience with Planet Fitness.
I just wish I knew all of this before I signed a contract with them.
You know, you sign contracts with banks and cell phone providers as well, but if you have proof of something that happened beyond your control, they at least try and accommodate you, well, at least the banks and cell phone providers that I use.
Planet Fitness couldn't be bothered less. My usage was low for the last 3 months due to my son having to go for an operation and obviously then, the last thing on my mind, was going to the gym.
I was never told that you could actually freeze your membership and therefore, they debited my account with R999 instead of R299 for the last month. I don't have that kind of money for a gym contract and I called to speak to a manager to explain my situation. The manager is in a meeting every time I call and he never calls me back, his name is Grant Penny/Perry.
My contract is now in arrears as I had to ask the bank to reverse the debit order or I could not get through with my budget for the month, but still, I can't speak to anyone to get this resolved. When you call the call centre, you first have to wait for about 20 minutes on average before speaking to someone, just to hear that the manager is in a meeting...again.
It's like they don't get the fact that, without their members, they are nothing, they won't exist. I was considering staying with them if they reduced my monthly premium back to R299, but they will not accommodate me with the R999 for the last month...I mean, really?? Are you really just going to be that cold??
If you are looking to start a gym contract somewhere, stay away from Planet Fitness, they don't care about their members, they only care about the money.
