Planet Fitness withholding contract until cooling off period expires.

I wanted to start a gym contract from 1 June 2022 but the sales consultant asked me to come and sign the contract on 23 May 2022 and he will future date it to 1 June. I asked for the contract and he said everything is paperless but they will email me a copy. I never received a copy but on 1 June the debit order went off after he said the first month would be for free. I asked for the contract and again he said it will be emailed. I phoned head office on 2 June requesting a refund and they said it will be processed. But on 6 June they said according to my contract the first month is not for free, I asked for the contract because I still don't know what I signed up for. They emailed me a copy and there were a lot of differences between what I was told and what was on the contract so I've requested a cancelation but then they told me I only had 5 days from date of signature to review the contract. I only received the contract 2 weeks after I signed so there were no way for me to read the contract and now if I want to cancel I have to pay R3,816.00 plus forfeit the R1,150.00 joining fee. So if you want to join Planet Fitness remember the sales consultant can tell you whatever you want to hear, it doesn't have to be true, you're not signing up to what he says, you're signing up to whatever is written on the contract. And there is a contract so before signing anything on their iPad ask for a copy. I was told that I signed for a debit order mandate but the 2 weeks later I saw my signature on a contract that I've never seen before.
