Planet Fitness will rob you!!

I tried to cancel my membership as I lost my job during the covid lockdown and Planet Fitness is refusing to allow me to cancel it without paying a R1000 cancelation fee! When I tried to explain that I LITERALLY HAVE NO INCOME, I was told that the best they can do is freeze my account for two months! Alternatively, they will freeze it for up to 6months and still charge me HALF of my membership fee. This is disgusting. People all over South Africa have lost their jobs and are struggling to make ends meet and Planet Fitness has the ***** to tell me that there's nothing they can do when all they need to do is cancel my membership without a ridiculous penalty! They're super accommodating when TAKING your money, but when I lose to my job to a situation out of my control suddenly they can't do anything! DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM!
