Planet Fitness Waterkloof Nightnmare- stay away

I I walked into Planet fitness (Waterkloof branch) for to view facilities

The receptionist assigned one of the consultants named Done.

We went through the gym and I told her that the facilities were impressive and that ill think about joining as I am with another gym in the area. As I was about to leave she insisted that I speak to her manager before I leave, so I was like okay. The manager by the name of Munchi or something like that came with a pen and paper and started asking me a series of questions like where I gym, if I coming alone etc, so I explained to him that I currently gym alone and was hoping to convince my wife of joining. Long story short, I told him I would not join until I have spoken to my wife. As we still talking, the consultant name Done came with papers which they asked me to sign and I responded by saying that I would not sign as I was not ready to join as I had not spoken to my wife yet and he kept saying that I can sign now and pay for the tag and once I have spoken to my wife and she has seen the facilities (mind you, the wife is still in KZN at the time), depending on her take, then I can either decline the offer and get back my R150 tag money and if I accept, I can simply come in and get the tag to start with gym. So I swiped the R150 and left the gym.

To my surprise, a few weeks later, I get debit order against my account, confused, I rushed to the gym and asked why is there a debit order going off for this gym as I had not gotten the tag and joined the gym as yet, I was told to call the call Centre which they responded by saying that they could not assist me as there is a cancellation fee. So I was like what to do from here? They responded by saying that I need to go back to the branch and ask them to call the call centre when I am there, and when I got there, got the same response. So frustrated, I called for the manager called Munchi, during our conversation, I ended up excusing myself as he had become something different from that friendly guy I spoke to weeks earlier. He is very manipulative, coercive and arrogant. To avoid any further confrontation, I simply asked to speak to his manager and that is when I was referred to Mr. Proud who asked me to provide this particular story for context and to initiate an investigation. Mr Proud to date has not provided any constructive feedback except a bunch of excuses one followed by another
