Planet Fitness, the biggest **** company in the country

Here is the break down of what has gone down:

I had a contract with them, for a year. I had to move out of the area, so I called the branch I used to attend to cancel my contract. The gentleman I spoke to refused to cancel my contract, stating that I had to come into the branch to cancel the contract. At that point, I had already moved to Krugersdorp (The branch in question is the Lakefield Branch in Benoni.

After a few months, I was contacted by Landua Attorneys about debt I owed Planet fitness. Which i had no issue paying, believing it was purely the cancellation fee. So I agreed on R150 a month, as myself and the two people I live with are living off donations from a friend in America.

I had been paying that amount for almost two whole years. I decided to call Landua Attorneys in Feb of this year, to find out how much I still owe on the account. The gentleman I spoke to there decided to put me in for a settlement of just over R12000.

So I called Planet Fitness to find out why it was so much, I received an account statement, which came to over R28000. This was because Planet Fitness went ahead on putting my account onto a month to month payment system, with no correspondence from them as far as I can see in my emails about this.

The lady I spoke to at Planet Fitness that day confirmed they have a recording of my call to cancel, but was unable to access it due to their systems changing over those years. She said she would be sending it to their IT department to recover the Recording, I have not heard anything from them about this since then.

I have however been receiving a large amount of phone calls from Landua Attorneys about the debt and I have repeated this to them every single time, with them stating that they would look into it. I have only ever had them call to find out why I'm not paying the debt off.

Both companies have stated that the calls will be recorded for security purposes.

I have done my best to contact both parties and even CGSO about this.

Today, I received an email from Planet Fitness, confirming that I have cancelled my Contract with them and stating that I HAVE to pay them R 11 652.88 by EFT or they will debit my account for the outstanding amount.
