PLANET FITNESS SLY - RUDE - UNPROFESSIONAL

My daughter signed a contract with Planet Fitness in Brackenfell on 2 June 2022. A month after signing the contract she had to move to Gordonsbay and could no longer make use of the contract. on 6 July 2022 she emailed them and canceled her contract, knowing that she would be liable for the first year she made an arrangement with the debt collectors and started paying them. In January 2024 she received a statement from the debt collectors and saw that she now owes Planet Fitness over R6000, with lots of back and forth she found out that although she was handed over to the debt collecting company Planet Fitness went ahead and renewed her contract with them, after we enquired about how this could be possible, the EXTREMELY rude call center agent informed her that her contract states that they can automatically renew her contract. She asked for a copy of the contract and it clearly states that although they can automatically renew the contract they will let you know at least 40 days in advance. My daughter never received an email, sms, or phone call informing her that they are going to renew the contract. First of all, How do you renew a contract that you already handed over to debt collecting? and how do you automatically renew a contract without informing the client when your contract stipulates a 40-day notice period? Planet Fitness is unprofessional and the call center agents are rude, to keep their side clean they never answer your e-mails they only phone you back so that there is no record of what has been said because they know it will take forever to go back to their recordings of the phone call. This company is extremely SLY, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND RUDE. We will get legal advice on this.
