Planet Fitness Poor Business Conduct/Membership never Cancelled no contact till account reached excess of R9000!!!

I urge you to be very carful when considering signing a contract with Planet Fitness, I cancelled my contract in June 2018 only to find that the cancellation process was never followed through, the last I heard from them was Wed, Jul 11, 2018 at 9:21 AM, when a Query Closure Email was sent. Now almost 3 years later without any warning only to find that "my account" was handed over to attorneys for collection!! According to them I owe Planet Fitness R9 693,86!!!!! upon further investigation they were not able to share any correspondence or letters of demand, nor could they provide me with a copy of my contract, the document shared was blank! All they were able to share was a document with endless monthly fees that were never paid because of non communication as well as endless streams of interest!! I feel done-in and I see this as very deliberate delay tactics! To add fuel to fire is the fact that I am harassed by debt collectors! It is just so sad because I really enjoyed my workouts there, I will never refer anyone to Planet Fitness after this I have no trust in their business conduct!! :(
