Planet Fitness Morningside - making up terms and conditions to get money out of people

Planet Fitness is charging me a cancellation fee for a contract that was cancelled after the 1 year cancellation period. They cannot show me the supposed contract that they say supports their claim and refuse to help at all. Their call centre has a story sheet that they use on all customers. No-one responds, no-one helps.

They have changed the terms of their contract and now are trying to hold us into something that we did not sign up for. Unilaterally changing the terms of a contract is not allowed.

They give me a story about me being liable to pay for the time that the gym was closed due to COVID last year which is total nonsense. How can there be a penalty clause for a decision they made on their own and are now trying to pin on me.

This is tantamount to ***** and is disgusting - they are taking advantage of people. Its very simple, I signed for 12 months, I cancelled after 12 months. The gym was closed, the contract cannot be extended because you were closed.
