Planet Fitness is **** and has no care for its clients

On 14/09/2022 myself and my partner came and took gym memberships with Planet Fitness Wanderers. I took the national membership which also came with a promo black tag for 1 year only whilst my partner took local membership only.

Nkosinathi Masilela (Sales Consultant) and Reza (Sales Manager) advised me that monthly gym fee is R840 after factoring a 30% discount from Balance SA as I have Bankmed Medical Aid.

On 3/10/2022, Reza and Nathi both called me and advised there was a problem with my membership I had to come physically to resolve issue. I eventually went to the gym in 7/10/2022and was advised Balance SA will no longer give the 30% discount as they changed their rules. To my surprise, both Nathi and Reza advised they were not aware of the rule changes prior to me taking membership. As a result my account was debited with R1200 instead of R840. Since 7/10/2022 I have been to Reza’s office 3 times to plead with him to come with resolution to the matter. He has always broken his promise to sort matter and update me on progress.

I always had to be the one following up with him. The last straw was when he advised he will come back to me by 3/11/2022 which he never did until I went to his office again on 16/21/2022.

We never reached an agreement and I have therefore asked to cancel my membership as I am now forced to pay R1200 instead of the R840 I was advised about.

On 16/11/2022 went to the gym again and physically met Reza and requested to cancel my membership effective 16/11/2022 due to above reasons considering he came up with a solution that doesn’t not work for me.

It has been a very unpleasant experience from Reza and Nathi hence my request for your assistance as they never come back to me on progress. I feel like information Nathi and Reza gave me was misrepresented as I now pay R1200 instead of R840.

As I write this review, I am standing at Planet Fitness Wanderers Reception and I am pushed piled from pillar to post as there is no Senior Personnel on site to assist me.

Planet Fitness service is disgraceful to say the least and they will get you to sign up using false information. It’s a **** do not take any membership with them
