Planet fitness harrasment after cancelling membership.

My son joined Planet Fitness gym. He was told that he could cancel the contract on 20 days notice, which he did in writing. Planet fitness has since tried to charge his credit card, and has not honoured the terms of the contract. They are now sending him threatening letters, and he has been harassed by a debt collector. This is completely unacceptable, as he cancelled the contract and gave Planet Fitness notice by phone and by email.

Customer service is not a strong point with this company!

They also misled us regarding sign up, promising a sign on discount. After a few weeks Planet Fitness called to say they had to charge a R700 activation fee instead of the R30 that the sales person said.
