Planet fitness doesn't want to end my membership

Worst gym ever. My membership expires on the 10th of July and I called planet fitness to terminate it as soon as it expires. Not them telling me that my 2 yrs membership will end in December yet I signed up on the 10th of Jury 2019. Saddest thing is I don't even use the gym. I'm paying every month for nothing. They are telling me that because of COVID-19 and lockdown the memberships were extended. I have asthma, we are currently on the third wave, I wont be able to be around people. Why is it so difficult to end a person's membership in this gym?! ******
