Planet Fitness demanding payment even when retrenched

I’m shocked and amazed at how Planet fitness is treating me after I have notified them of my retrenchment. After the first Covid-19 lockdown I was retrenched from work. Despite having sent through my retrenchment documents to Planet Fitness, I was told I need to pay them for cancellation and that their contract is binding even when you don’t have a job I still have to pay, when I couldn’t pay them they continued to charge me every month. And now I’m being harassed by their debt collectors ( Saya Recoveries), theses people are arrogant, inconsiderate and ******. Their consultant Neo Kgampe is downward rude and told me to pay up within 7 days or they are blacklisting my name. South Africa why aren’t you protecting us from such bullies, it seems the Law favours them than us poor citizens, how kind of a contract is that anyway? no one should go through this kind of treatment.
