Planet Fitness contracts are a ****!!! they don't inform you about the contract being auto-renewal after it expires, only for them to contact you 2 years later to tell you that u owe 2 years worth of gym membership fees

I am highly disappointed with the **** that Planet fitness is running. I signed a 24 month contract in Feb 2017 and my contract ended in Feb 2019 with no issues. I have just been contact by a debt collectors to tell me that I owe over R4000 in gym membership fees because "apparently" my gym contract was an auto-renewal contract, this is something i was not told when i signed the contract and clearly hidden in the large document i signed.

Anyways i fail to understand why Planet fitness did not contact me either via email, sms or telephone to inform me when my account fell in arrears within the first 3 months instead of contacting me 2 years later!!! How can i be made to pay R4000 when i did not even go to the gym over these 2 years???

This very unprofessional!
