Planet fitness contract

I signed a year contract with Planet Fitness from June 2019. When I wanted to cancel this contract I was told I’d have to pay for the remaining months until June 2020. I’ve still been receiving debit orders & have just been informed that I have a two year contract that actually expires in October 2021 ! I’ve never been told this before and have now been told I need to pay over R2500 to cancel the contract that was meant to have expired. Asking for advice on what to do- I’m hearing tons of people having gone through the same thing! This is so ****my.
