Planet fitness collections with SAYA says in arrears after membership canceled
I am currently going through a terrible experience with both Planet fitness and SAYA collections. I took up membership with Plant Fitness in 2019 Feb of which i couldn't continue with into 2020. I received a Call fro Aida working for SAYA Recoveries to notify me that my account with planet fitness has fallen into arrears and i needed to pay the prescribed amount. I subsequently paid the outstanding amount agreed with the consultant and received the call that my payment reflects on their part and was therefore exhonerated from my liability. all this happened in February of 2020. Ida asked if i would like to cancel y membership with the gym and rep**** in the affirmative. i was subsequently assured that my membership has been canceled and no further action would be required on my part.
Fast forward to 2021, i received a call 30 August 2021 that my account is again in arrears and that i am liable for R8 600 in membership fees. I went on to seek clarity as to how is this possible because my membership with the gym had been cancelled. i was further informed that there was an upgrade to my former original package to premium and this occurred without my consent or notification on the part of planet fitness.
I called the customer service channel within the gym after telling them my predicament to be linked with a very rude consultant named Mpho who provided no solution and was very nonchalant to the error made by their collections people being SAYA recoveries. I am not employed, still a student, i played my part in canceling my subscription and paying my dues only to hear almost 2 years later that i need to pay R8600 in gym fees that I've cancelled subscription for almost 2 years ago now.
This is the worst collections company I have ever been exposed to as consultants on their part do not execute client mandated tasks
