Planet Fitness charges you over and over again for cancelling your membership

I have been trying to cancel my contract since February. On the 23rd of February 2023 I called the Meadowdale club to cancel my contract and was told they will handle everything and I just have to pay R399 for the next 4 months. I never got a Ref number and now ironically there is no record of me calling on the 23rd and I was never sent an email or phoned by the cancellation department. I have already paid the money now which works out to R1596 and they are still debiting my account and telling me I need to pay the settlement of R1590 upfront or R399 for the next 4 months again. I have spoken to about 5 different people who are just throwing their hands in the air saying I don't know how to help and there is nothing I can do. So do not sign up with planet fitness because all they care about is money and not you like they claim to do.
