Planet Fitness are *********! Run!!!

Planet Fitness is a ******** company. My wife and I joined planet fitness shortly before Covid 19 hit. We signed up for membership and what they said is that *** amount is our membership.

For 2 years now the aircons have not worked most of the time and there is always an excuse as to why. Each month they would say end of the month, but the end of the month would come and go and nothing would be fixed. Their staff turnover is so high that the person that makes the promise will not be there the next month. Each month staff would leave which shocked me as compared to what you see with Virgin Active. The same people still work at Virgin and speaking to a few I heard how Planet Fitness treat their staff. In November 2022, my wife and I decided we had enough of a gym that charge you but the aircon never works, so we cancelled our membership.

December planet fitness charged all of its members an additional "maintenance" fee, so basically you had to pay 2x your membership fee, so R 2000 for a gym with no aircon that you pay for the whole year. This has been going on for 2 years now. My wife told them she will not pay the fee because she cancelled her membership. They phoned her 5 times, speaking to a different person every time, and each one would say its fine. The fifth time she told them to make a note and at the end of the month they deducted not just R 2000 or R 980 x 2 (membership fee plus maintenance fee) but R 3000. They decided that since they are now already cheating us, why not just ***** an additional R 1000 which none of their staff could explain the reason for the extra R 1000, since her membership was on time. At the end of the month they took R 3000 and locked it so it could not be overturned, after calling her 5 times and saying that she does not have to pay it. This is not a honest company and after learning how to treat their staff and their customers, I now doubt that the aircons was broken. I think that are so sneaky that they turn it of the save money or make more. I tried to cancel my membership, and said they should phone me. They phoned me once and when the line cut out the did not even bother to phone me back. I know they won't because the staff is so miserable and *********** that they don't care, and planet fitness is so *****ed that they will fine any way to ***** from their customers. O and they increase their membership 2 times a year at 10% each time.

It is a **** company and the worst I have ever dealt with, and they are not honest. It is a ******** organization and the worst gym is South African. Stay as far a way as you can. I have told everyone I know of the experience we have had. This company does not deserve your loyalty. They are ******.
