My contracted ended Feb 2021 but 6 months later I get debit orders that I thought was my cell phone company as the description was vague. I later realized It was planet fitness and phoned them and asked how they can debit order me since I don't have a contract with them. They said they SMSd me they will debit order me, but I never got an SMS. Since when is an SMS a new contract? They then said that a contract reverts to month to month but that is not what happened. A new debit order amount started 6 months later. I didn't recognize the new amount and ref no. I requested the contract and there is no mention of being month to month after a contract ends or month to month months later.

Trying to phone them their lines are always busy. After finally getting through they said I must give notice of cancellation a month ahead of time. I ask how I give notice since i have no contract. They say verbally. How absurd. I then revert the debit order. They then add penalties so absurd, and I am reported as bad debtor. I ask my bank what I can do as I have no contract with Planet Fitness. The bank just shrugs and say I revert the debit order which I do. But then I get a bigger debit order next month with even more penalties added.
