Planet fitness

I'm very very disappointed in-fact no I'm not disappointed I'm angry. I was a member of planet fitness bellville branch until the gym closed down in April 2022. In the process of closing down there was no communication done to the members ,We only knew through rumours and even when we called the call centre no one knew until on the day they were closing. They gave my membership to zone fitness without consulting me, Planet fitness did not comply to the POPI act but they went ahead and gave my personal information to zone fitness without our concern. I find a debit order that still goes through my account and when I call them to cancel my membership I was told that my account is cancelled with them but active with zone fitness but when I went to zone fitness to cancel I was told that I need to pay 17% cancellation fee, HOW? because I never had any contract with zone fitness and I don't have any interest of continuing with my membership. I have been send from pillar to post wanting my membership to be cancelled. planet fitness is useless they haven't solved this and I'm very very angry because if I wanted to gym at zone fitness I would have just go there at the 1st place but I choose to go to planet fitness bellville but regardless planet fitness went ahead and gave up my membership and my details to zone fitness. And now I can't cancel my membership with zone fitness because I have to pay a fee to do that.
