Not easy cancelling membership with Planet Fitness Valley View

I am a (EX) member of Planet Fitness (joined in 2018 at Valley View shopping center) For the past four years, I went to the gym 4 (maybe less) times. Paid every single month. What a struggle to cancel my membership in 2022 . For the past two months I have been going into the gym to cancel my contract (its now on a month to month) where they tell me unfortunately I have to phone head office. And vice versa: Head Office wants me to go to the gym. Certainly super easy to sign up as expected but not to cancel even if you pay for a service that you don't go to. Eventually this Sunday the manager Dane sends an email on my behalf to head office "requesting" cancellation. Firstly, no request needed - I inform you of my cancellation. Consider my membership with you terminated, on my behalf. Also, and surely - I would recommend any of my family or friends to join Planet Fitness because they dodge cancelling contracts.
