NO PROTECTION OF CLIENT ID NUMBERS - IDENTITY THEFT A POSSIBILITY DON'T JOIN

I have taken up this complaint a year ago with the Planet Fitness Just Gym branch in Umhlanga and then Head Office and I have once again raised my complaint a week ago with the Head Office which went unattended and query was closed with no feedback! Due to loadshedding in the area, members who were part of a loyalty programme to get reduced gym fees, we were requested to fill out an attendance slip with ID numbers and to sign. This book allows for every single person who signs in there to view every other member's ID number and the gym staff also have access to this information. The gym and the Head Office DO NOT TAKE Protection of Personal Information seriously and this leaves ALL MEMBERS WHO SIGNED INTO THE BOOK OPEN TO IDENTITY THEFT!!! As expected due to last year's query I logged, the Head Office once again forwarded my request to the gym and my request was sent back to me as query closed. I was not provided with any reasons thereof. I had to call in to find out that the GYM had advised that it is a requirement for all members to write their ID numbers in the book. Okay, so that makes it okay for us to go on with our day, should anyone take our personal information from the book then identity theft is OUR problem right? And no one, ESPECIALLY NOT THE GYM will take ownership of this problem!

Does no one take identity theft seriously in this day and age???? I REFUSE TO NOTE MY ID NUMBERS IN YOUR GYM BOOK WHICH LEAVES ME VULNERABLE TO POSSIBLE THEFT!!! Planet Fitness's attitude towards my serious request is a joke and they disgust me!!!

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT RESPECTED AS MEMBERS. YOUR MONEY IS THE ONLY RESPECT FACTOR! PAY MORE AND GO TO THE BIG RED GYM THAT RESPECTS YOU!
