Misrepresention of equipment available at club

On the day that I joined I specifically said I’m only joining if they have 2 working Wattbikes. They confirmed and I joined. When I went to the gym only 1 bike present. I queried it and told them that was the only reason and they need to sort it out asap. The following day I got on to the only Wattbike, and it didn’t even work. I wanted to cancel the contract, and now they are refusing. I can’t see why I must pay penalties if they misrepresented what equipment was available and working. I’m still trying to get out of the contract
