Misled and **** too! Disgusted beyond measure

I went to the gym to sign up but told the consultant my budget is no more than R500 as I’m under extreme financial strain however needed the gym as a way of de-stressing. She informed she can sign me up and meet my budget as they had a special at the gym and further to that if I sign up with Edgars I would have another discount which would qualify me to pay R478 a month. 2 weeks ago I got the shock of my life when I was told the discount was only applicable for 3 months and post that my membership fee would be R949! I told the manager I was not informed of this and even have evidence in the form of messages from Rori who signed me up. The manager then told me that there’s nothing they can do and if I want to cancel I must pay R3000!!!!! I am utterly disgusted in how I was **** to and have proof of this yet the manger refuses to cancel this membership as I have mitigating evidence that proofs I was **** too by his consultant. I have been waiting for 10 days to get a response and when I sent an email asking for feedback the email I got back was that I would be contact in due course! Due course could be months/weeks yet I must just sit and wait. I read the reviews and I wish I had done so before signing up as I can see the modus operandi has not changed. I’m so disappointed as I held this gym in high regard. I may as well have signed up with Gym company had they had a branch in midrand. I want this membership canceled otherwise I will involve the consumer ombudsman and send them the conversation I had with the consultant whereby she confirms that she will be able to sign me up within my budget, furthermore she confirms that her manager has given her authorisation for the discount and much more things she wrote that led me to believe I’m dealing with trustworthy people only to realise I’m dealing with professional ****s who aren’t bothered to fix what they’ve done!
