Misleading the public

I took a contact with planet fitness in 2016 at the Edenvale branch. When I joined I had to paid R100.00 fot the tag, Rian the sales consultant told me that when the contract expires and not renew or cancelled I will get R100.00 refund back. I paid 21 months of the 24 month contract. I cancelled the contact and paid the penalty fees. I went to the Edenvale branch two week ago and promise me they will call me the next day. Till now no one called. Today I called the head office and was told that only a promotion that was running in the beginning of the year and that they where sorry I was mislead. My question is how will I know about a refund for the tag and maybe there was a promotion on when I took out a contact. Is sorry and forget about it exceptable? Poor service.
