Misleading information

<p>I signed up for the PAY AS YOU GO option on 2013/10/07 at Plattekloof Planet Fitness whereby I bought 500 visits. I liked this option because the T&C's indicated this not to be a fixed term contract therefor I can go to gym when I want and would not feel obligated to go because I have a contract with a monthly premium. I paid roughly R6000-00 upfront for this option. In 2015 the facilities were upgraded for 6 months and at the end of 2016 I underwent shoulder surgery and only returned to the gym in May 2017. Then I was told that my membership expired in October 2016. This to me was news. I could not under stand how it can expire if the visits I bought were not depleted. I was told that I should have bought 50 visits per year to maintain the membership but who in his right mind will buy 50 visits/ year when he bought 500 visits to start with. The way it was explained to me was that when the 500 visits were depleted I can by buying 50 visits per year continue on this option. The PAY AS YOU GO option does not have the option to pause your membership for the very reason you buy visits which you can use until finished. If you take into account weekends and holidays and you average 2 visits/ week this option should last about 4 to 5 years. They take your money upfront and can therefor do with it what they need too.</p>
