Dear Planet Fitness

I received a free week pass at Planet Fitness in Morningside in September 2019 with the intention of joining effective 01 October 2019 with Vitality activated so that I would receive the discounted monthly subscription.

The months of October - December 2019 I didn't go to the gym as I was out of the province and since I hadn't received confirmation that my Planet Fitness Membership had been activated nor had I confirmed the bank details as I had provided a Tyme Bank account which according to Tshepo from Planet Fitness in Morningside wouldn't suffice for the debit order. According to me my Planet Fitness Membership wasn't activated and wasn't really a concern to me as I wasn't really interested in joining the Morningside branch.

In December 2019 I received a call from Debt Collectors for my Planet Fitness account for an amount of about R1900. It came as a great shock as there was never any confirmation of my membership sent to me and this amount was too high for someone who had Vitality.

January 2020 I receive an email from the debt collectors for about R 5000.00.

Could someone urgently look into this matter as there is no reason for me to join Planet Fitness for R599 every month when I am a Discovery member with Vitality. The Vitality wasn't activated as discussed with Tshepo when prompted to join the gym thus the high arrears incurred and I have never been to the gym since the free pass trial, surely this should show a sign of dissatisfaction?.

Please re evaluate the arrears handed over as this is really not fair to be in debt of so much and if subscription is active please cancel it with immediate effect.
