Membership Billing Concern (De Waterkant Planet Fitness)
I joined the De Waterkant Planet Fitness in August 2025 after moving to Cape Town. I had previously been a Planet Fitness member in Sandton and at The Wanderers in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
When joining De Waterkant, I specifically requested no Black Tag/Buddy Tag and was issued a Blue Tag. In September , I was overcharged. I assumed this was a pro rata charge for August. However, when the same overcharge occurred again in October, I contacted the gym.
The General Manager, Marissa, advised me telephonically that she would rectify the issue and asked me to email her the details. In November, I was once again overcharged. I followed up with Marissa who refused to help me. I then contacted customer care but received little assistance. Frustrated, I decided to cancel my membership.
When I went to the gym to discuss the issue in person, the Sales Manager, Nicole Williams, said she would resolve the matter and that I would receive a full refund. Nathi, who assisted me with my membership, also confirmed that he remembered I only wanted a Blue Tag. However, once Nicole discovered that I had cancelled my membership, she refused to assist further.
I have since been charged again for the Black Tag, and Nicole continues to refuse to help me recover the overcharged amounts
