Locker Syndicate at Planet Fitness Greenstone: Management Indifferent & SAPS Deficient.

I am writing this to warn the public about a syndicate operating inside Planet Fitness Greenstone, located in Greenstone Shopping Centre and the shocking lack of accountability from both gym management and the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Last month in May, my gym locker was broken into. The ***** stole my belongings, cash in my purse and later cleaned out my bank accounts (did not take the purse but took pictures of my cards) . Because the lock was closed after the theft, it was immediately clear that this was an inside job. These incidents happen countless times i have now come to learn.

Since my incident, I have had to do the police's job for them. Through my own investigation, I successfully tracked down the perpetrator and handed verified, actionable information directly to the investigating SAPS Edenvale detective—including the suspect’s full name, ID number, contact details, vehicle registration, and current employer.

Despite being handed a complete case file with the suspect’s exact identity, the detective has made zero arrests and has now resorted to completely ignoring my text messages.

To make matters worse, Planet Fitness Greenstone is demonstrating a blatant disregard for member safety. I have since been approached by another female member who was victimized in the exact same manner. Furthermore, another locker break-in is rumored to have occurred just this past Friday in the Male section.

Planet Fitness management could not be bothered. They are actively allowing a syndicate to operate within their facilities without upgrading security or warning their current paying members.

If you train at Planet Fitness Greenstone, know that your belongings are not safe, management will not care, and the local SAPS will not help you even when given a complete case file.
