Lack of service and empty promises from Planet Fitness Northmead

I joined the new planet fitness in Benoni about 3 months ago just before they opened. I still had my 4 year old daughter with me because I am a single mother and I do not have anyone to look after her. The only reason I joined was because they promised child care. I made it very clear to the sales agent that this is the main reason why I would be joining them so that I do not have to organize a babysitter every time I want to go work out.

As soon as the gym opened the child care wasnt open and their reason was that the child minder they wanted to hire dropped them last minute, but as I walked past the area where the kids were supposed to be, nothing was set up or ready. The sales agent then told me he would let me know as soon as they have filled that position. I left that for a month with no response and no way to make use of my gym contract.

When I followed up a month later they told me that the childcare isn't open because of the level 3 covid regulations and they promised that it would be open with level 2. So naturally I waited, not wanting to cause any trouble.

Level 2 came and I phoned them asking if their childcare is open and they gave me a **** excuse about another level 2 rule that doesnt permit them in opening the childcare. I have phoned the client services to try and freeze my contract but they said because I am in the Discovery Health contract they cant freeze my contract and that I should speak to the manager at the specific Planet Fitness.

I have been in contact with other gyms that have childcare facilities and all of them are open, so why is planet fitness making excuses?

So I phoned and asked the receptionist if I could talk to the manager after having to explain to her why... and she said the manager would phone me back. I am still waiting for that call.

The gym fee gets deducted off my account every month, I paid a big joining fee as well, but no one seems to be able to help me. I am extremely frustrated. I will not recommend planet fitness to anyone with the lack of service I have experienced.
