Infringementof Protection of Personal Informat Act

Visitors to Planet Fitness Gyms are compelled to fill in a register (Name, Surname, ID and Cell). This is apparently an indeminity form. Unfortunately this register is displayed to all subsequent visitors showing all previous vistors personal details. On 2 occasions, I have pointed out to management that this is an infringement of the POPI Act, however their resposne is this company policy and there is nothing that can be done aboout it. I again witnessed the same procedre today where a list of 22 people was given to me by the receptionist. She then left to attend to the next enquiry. I took a photo of the list and proved to the manager (thando) how easy it is to copy this info. He said I must call the Call Centre to compalin. This info can be used by ******** and marketing companies *******ly. Please change the procedure so that subsequent visitors cannot see other peoples personal info. Failing this I will have to report this infringement of the POPI Act to the Information Regulation office. I tried reporting this complaint from the Planet Fitness webiste, however they again want my ID and Cell no and actually say they will pass this info to 3rd party marketers and advertisers!!!
