Don't walk, run from planet fitness

If you're thinking of getting a gym membership at planet fitness, please don't. I was promised 6 months free buddy tag as advertised, turns out im still being charged. Head office investigated only to find that they turned it on me and said i converted from a student plan??? I am 26, and this is my first time membership. All they tell me is 'well can we process your cancellation but you will still need to give 2 months notice or pay a cancellation fee' I sincerely regret signing up at this point but my dumb ass signed up for 2 years. This is so off putting. You have to pay an arm and a leg to just live healthy, I am convinced that planet fitness sales people are no better than insurance sales people, butter you up and sell you what seems like a great deal just for you to get the short end of the stick.
