Do not open an account with Planet Fitness

I had opened a 3-year contract with Planet Fitness and paid R7,600 upfront for 2***. The sales staff told us that the upfront cost is all we need to pay. Planet Fitness then tried to charge additional costs against our bank account and charged us additional \annual fees\" that were never disclosed. They deliberately try to deceive their customers and once you have paid they know you have to continue paying additional undisclosed fees lest you lose all your money and have no access to the gym even though you paid for your contract - they will not give you any refund if you choose to close your account.<br> <br> After so many fights and additional charges against my account and being shown font size 6 contractual terms in my contract which was never shown or disclosed to us I eventually decided to cancel my contract in the 3rd year (2012) even before the contract ended - my friend was with me that witnesses that I settled all costs on my account and cancelled the contract.<br> <br> Now almost 4 years later - Planet Fitness is still charging fees against my account and getting debt collectors to try and get me to pay it??
