Disgusting behavior

I used to be a member of planet fitness and cancelled my contract when it was extended without my permission. I then got told to pay a certain amount to cancel it by February 2021, which I did. I am now getting told I have been handed over to lawyers and my credit record is negatively impacted because I have an outstanding amount to pay? This is absolutely disgusting and I will NEVER support planet fitness nor would I recommend it to any person.
