Disappointed Member

Dear Sir/Madam

I would like to lodge a complaint regarding the my Plattekloof gym membership as we are loyal supporters of the gym for more than two years now. Previously my son was allowed into the gym without me being present with our blacktag. This continued for two year even though there was apparently a rule that the main member was suppose to be with for the second person to enter. This was fine for two years so surely it is common practice right. Now recently say about two or more months ago Jamie Campbell was appointed then things still continued as per normal (meaning he could go in without me being present), but then she was promoted to Manager and this rule of me being present when he wants to enter the gym was enforced.) On Friday, 29/11/2019 I approached Jamie and explained to her that it takes me 1 hour everyday from work to get to gym only to scan him in and leave again as I don't train everyday. I asked her the question that "Does it make sense/is it logical for someone to sit in heavy traffic for an hour just to get to gym to scan someone in just to leave again to sit in traffic again home to get to your daily duties. He response was she will take it up with her GM and give me feedback by Tuesday, 3 November 2019. Yesterday I went to gym as usual as I do classes on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. Yesterday she didn't even attempt to give my any answer until I approach her again to asked what the GM said. Her response was that the GM (Jacqueline Meyer) said that rules are in place for a reason. To me this is unacceptable as for two years with the exact same GM this was not a problem at all in the past. Also everybody at the gym know us by now so for this reason I also feel that my request could be considered as we are not new and he would use the tag but yet it wasn't considered at all. I feel what I requested was not unreasonable but the answer I got was unacceptable as my situation wasn't even considered. Also as a member for two years I have to consider if this is really worth the aggravation. By now I have made a group of friend with whom I enjoy attending the different classes but I guess I can do the same somewhere where I would actually be valued as a client and not treated in this manner. I am sorry but I think you should rather get management to focus on bigger problems like the use of clean mops for floors, hygiene of the bathrooms, the air-conditioning in the studio to be specific as well as the studio that's a mess before classes start, than to focus on this that doesn't even make logical sense.

I am really hoping to get a logical response to this as I would really not like to cancel my membership but I am also of the opinion that I'm not going to stand for the unnecessary aggravation.

Hope to hear back soon.

Kind regards Natalie February ***
