DECLINING REFUND - ***

On the 20th August, I had to undergo a hysterectomy. To make sure I wasn't overcharged by Planet Fitness I supp**** a letter from the Gynaecologist saying I would not be able to gym for between 6 and 8 weeks. The gym responded by freezing my membership for that time and only charging me R120 a month, instead of R299. At the end of January 2020, R999 was taken off my stop order and when I queried it, was told that it was because I had low attendance over a 3 month period.

The 3 months were August, September and October 2019 - so I explained that I had forwarded a letter from the Gynaecologist and everything should be in order. I was informed that I would be refunded R700. After countless phone calls and e-mails, I have now been informed that my request for a refund has been declined.

As far as I can see, I have followed the correct protocol in informing the gym of my operation and providing proof of that from the Gynaecologist.
