Debt collectors

Plant fitness decided to take me to debt collectors without informing me that I had an outstanding amount I had to pay them after I cancelled my memership with them as I have send the an email to give me the rightful information on how much I need to pay them to finish all my payment but I did not receive any communication from them.Now my name has been register with debt collector and still I have not heard anything from the debt collectors themselves.Funny enough reversal charges were taken from my debit card as well,the I was thinking I don't owe them anything before I went to them to checking my name on they systems.
