I decided to terminate my contract with Planet fitness, because I had to move jobs. However I had already paid in cash for 12 months use and I have only used the gym for about 4 months. Their contact centre adviser told me that I would have to pay an additional fee of R462.00 for the following 12 months which I was unaware of. I find this ********* because I was unaware that I signed a 24 month agreement rather than a 12 month agreement, because I did not have enough time to read through the whole contract since your sales person told me that if I leave the gym and come back, the discount will no longer be applicable to me as I will not qualify as a 1st time visitor any longer, hence I was forced to make an on-the-spot decision within a few minutes of my lunch break, which is ********. I then told them that I do not believe that I should pay that cancellation fee. Furthermore this makes no sense because I have already paid in cash for the 1st 12 months of which I should get a rebate since I will not be using the gym. They con you into signing up with limited time, never giving a copy of the contract and force you into paying something like a penalty for leaving. Customers are last.
