Claiming money after contract has ended

Makes sense now reading other peoples comments about trying to claim unpaid bills from other people! At least I know I’m not the only one in this boat! My contract ended and they just decided to renew it after 2016. Cancelled my contract 8 YEARS AGO and still they harass me. When my contract ended in 2016 they renewed it without my consent and kept on debit money off my account which I confronted them about (Cape Town Claremont branch) they then advised I need to email customer service to cancel contract which I did and heard nothing from them. 2019 a debt collector company is contacting me saying I owe them 10k for unpaid premiums. Firstly, surely you would contact me via phone or email saying I owe you for these premiums after THE FIRST MONTH OF NOT PAYING, secondly, a whole 4 years later they harassing me with debt collectors. I respond to them and get no communication back whatsoever! Now 2022 they contact me with new debt collectors (Landua) claiming I owe Planet fitness 9k so what is it 10k or 9k? If I could rate this company a negative I would! A whole 8 years later they trying to claim debt that I owe???? My contract ended nearly a decade ago! What is going on here??? They should be reported to some authority to what’s going on and it seems there are plenty of victims involved and I would like to be compensated for the harassment! Something dodgey is definitely going on here…
