Cancelling membership is almost impossible....

Planet Fitness are quick to sign people up, but when it comes to cancelling the membership it ain't easy at all.

They got my unemployed 18 year old son to sign a membership under the pretense that it is for a free trial period. It was actually for a 12 month membership that he can't afford. They handed him over to the lawyers for non-payment and this is where the frustration really started.

I emailed and phoned Planet Fitness, and was told that they will cancel the membership but that there is a cancellation fee involved. Fine, I told them to go ahead. They then never deducted the final premium. Now the membership is still active, and running up a higher debt, even though I cancelled his membership.

I don't know what to do anymore as they keep saying it will be cancelled but then the membership carries on regardless.

Really wouldn't recommend Planet Fitness to anyone.
