Cancelled my contract ********ly
Long story short, in 2011 both my Wife and I were sold a contract that was a pay R7000 upfront and get 500 visits that has no expiry date. Even the contracts states that it is indefinite and has no end date anywhere, I've reviewed the T&C's numerous times.
Many years later, after marriage, living large, having kids, and being lazy, we both decided we want to use our more than 400+ visits we have left and were declined entry saying our membership is cancelled.
Complaints to the call centre were pointless, Twitter team keeps replying the matter has been escalated, I then got in touch with the "Head of Service" and she called me to say that as per the CPA, they are not allowed to have contracts valid for longer than 3 years? How is the CPA supposed to benefit them and not me?
We paid UPFRONT, meaning, we should have been allowed to claim. our 500 visits in 100 years time if we were still around then, as NOWHERE was there an expiry date.
I've now escalated to their Legal Team, and cc'd the CEO, so let's see what transpires.
Next point of call is, I am getting my Lawyer friends to send them a letter demanding we get refunded or that our "canceled" contract gets reversed as they didn't provide the service they received payment for.
I highly recommend people stay away from Planet Fitness, as they just want your money, but don't give a damn about their customers.
