Cancellation of membership

Can someone please explain to me why I will have to pay R1744.00 to cancel a gym membership. You are not incurring any costs on my behalf. The other thing is that your sales people con people by making them take a contract to get a lower fee yet you still increase the fee annually. A gym membership is a ****. Just pay a month to month. Don't let them con you!
