Cancellation of contract due to Menlyn branch closure

I joined Planet fitness Menlyn branch in September 2025 and I was informed in March 2026 that the branch will be closing down. I was told that I’d be moved to the Lynwood or Olympus branch which is an inconvenience for me. I called Plan Fitness to cancel my contract due to my current branch closing and I was told that I’d be held liable for cancellation penalties. I find this very unfair because the agreement was breached/cancelled by Planet Fitness however I am held accountable for penalties to cancel my contract. Section 12, subsection 12.2 in my contract states that the club reserves the right to close if cease operations of an existing Club and substitute it with a reasonable alternative facility for the client. The alternative which is provided to me is not reasonable and therefore I wanted to cancel my contract. The Consumer Protection Act states that if the closure of a facility is seen as a breach of contract (e.g change in location) the consumer should not be held liable for penalties.
