Cancellation

I called this morning to cancel my membership because I have relocated and there is no planet fitness anywhere close by. My contract was a 12month contract, I joined in 2019 July, which ended now in August. I am being told i have to pay an amount of R 2547 for all the months that I was not using the gym while my account was frozen. I asked the lady what were the term and conditions and she said she is not sure. I am so disappointed, where do I get that amount of money to cancel. Is this how you rip people off while in a pandemic? We have to back pay for not using the gym facilities?
