Beware Planet Fitness, an ********* company.

I joined the Umhlanga Gym and after a while realised I was not using it enough so decided to cancel. This is when my hell started.

They gave me a figure to pay to pay which I did. I then receive a call from the cancellation department stating that the debit order was already loaded but they would refund it after it came off.

On the 12th I called them enquiring of the refund. They then state that they cant pay it into the account they debited without me sending proof of banking to where it must be paid. I don't understand why they cant just refund the erroneous debit order into the account they debited.

However I send through the proof and wait a week still nothing. When I call them they state it is in process. When I ask to speak to a manager they say none are available.

My question is Planit Fitness take money off my account they should not. They then make you jump through hoops to get it back , and hold it for almost a month. How much money is Planet Fitness making from people who have debit orders taken when they should not have. They hold the money for almost a month earning interest off our money. When you consider the size of Planet fitness and how many people are cancelling on a monthly basis, the interest earned must be substantial.

Quite a **** that they have going. They must earn quite a penny while hiding behind "procedures".
