Beware of Planet fitness

So I joined PF on 10 october 2021, and the fees were R485, Pensioner rate - limited to between 10h00 and 15h00. On 1st Nov they debited me double the fee!! Why? I was charged a LEVY for the whole previous year!! When I asked the lady who signed me up, she ****! Told me it was in advance for 2022. I moaned, but with no response. I carried on for the whole of 2022, and, again, was charged a levy. I wanted to do swimming as I have some limiting injuries, and then .... they closed the pool for a whole week! To do maintenance, so I couldn't swim. To cut a long story short, wanted to cancel and ended up paying 4 months premium to cancel. I joined Virgin Active recently, and oh ... what a difference! Fees are R558, no levies, great pool (maintained at night, so no issues when you want to swim) So many machines, you never have to wait for a machine, you get fantastic benefits, points for going to gym, freebies etc. Now I'm keen to gym every day. Planet Fitness - be warned people, I would recommend Virgin Active any time for the best, friendliest service, best experience ever
