Best ******** in the market

My fiancé went in to enquire about the various packages Planet fitness have to offer around the beginning of November 2020. This was at the Valley View branch. She was helped by a gentleman called Zaheed.

Zaheed gave her the rundown, and even after she wasn't sure if she should take it or not,she was bul**** into a sale by him. He did not want her to leave the building and take time to think about what was said,no documentation was handed to her regarding the contract and was very persistent in not letting her go. She had to sign there and then. Eventually they agreed on a package of R187 per month as she is part of Discovery medical and qualified for a discount. After she received a copy of her contract on 6 Nov 2020,she realised that the amount on the contract was R499,and not R187. She went into the branch to question the amount. She was immediately dismissed by Zaheed and he said she must come back in January. He was not interested in assisting her. At the end of January,a payment of R499 was taken from her account.

She went to the branch on 26/01/2021 to enquire as to why this was the case. When asked if she could see Zaheed, they said he was in a meeting, but in fact he was loafing about the branch (she could see him). After the visit at the branch they offered a package of R379,AND she has to pay R200 at the end of Feb to downgrade to the local package, meaning the total debit order will be close to R1000.

My questions are: 1. How can it be allowed that a sales person bombards a lady that came in for an inquiry, and basically forces her to sign a document without giving it to her to read first at home? 2. When she goes in to query a matter a few days later, she is dismissed and told to come back in 2 months time? 3. Why isn't the customer given ample time to go through the fine print, but they rather get forced to sign NOW and THERE and THEN? 4. Why wasn't the issue of the main membership of Discovery never discussed with her before signing the papers? 5.How can she cancel the subscription without any cost as she was bul**** by a sales person into signing docs without given ample time to read through and look at all the fine print?

We feel that this 'sale' was concluded in a very unprofessional matter and the offer made verbally was never put into place on paper. No time was given to read through the offer,or even take it home to read through. When the sales person was questioned a few days later, the client was dismissed and a blind eye was turned. This is a tactic used so that the cooling off period for the customer can pass and is very unprofessional.

We sent a complaint to their customer services department,no feedback received.
