Being punished for things I can't control

<p>I became a member last year May. At the time I belinged to Momentum Multiply as my medical aid was affiliated managed by momentum and it was the rewards programme I qualified for. My medical aid administrator changed 1 Jan 2016 to Discovery and I therefore moved to Vitality. </p> <p>When I got back from my holiday and returned to gym Planet Fitness cancelled my membership. I did not request the cancellation nor was I notified of the cancellation. </p> <p>After a long fight not to have to pay sign up fees AGAIN I was told to sign docs and they would reinstate my membership.</p> <p>I now travel frequently for work and Planet Fitness has a limited number of gyms available when compared to other chains. What's more the gym I use in Cape Town is shocking! Broken lockers, old and broken equipment and limited equipment. Shocking after my experience in Jhb where the gyms are new and up to date.</p> <p>Now that I want to cancel my membership I have to pay a penalty because when they reactivated my membership they signed me into another 12month contract!?!?! </p> <p>I refuse to pay when my membership is way older than 12months, especially since I didn't cancel my membership in the first place.</p>
