Atrocities of Planet Fitness!! A real white color crime

Worst ever!!White collar crime . Rosebank mall Planet fitness !!! When we went to planet fitness the salesman gave us promises like we can cancel the contract anytime , we can put it on hold with no charges incurred etc . We asked him why it wasn't in the contract and he said its something he can mark on the system and is not a part of normal contract . As he was a planet fitness representative we had to believe him . 6 months later we were on an international trip for a month . So we called call centre and asked them to put the contract on hold for a month till we back . They did it without mentioning about anything . End of the month there were charges incurred for making the account dormant with planet fitness . Thats when we realized something is not going as agreed . We started looking for the sales guy only to realize that he left planet fitness the following month. We spoke to one of his managers and believe me , he said that he wont take responsibility of salespersons actions and he said he cannot help . I was shocked !! We were helpless . A brand like planet fitness representative sounded like a petty shop owner on the streets. Few months later the worse thing happened . The apartment we renting decided to demolish and reconstruct . They gave us a month notice to vacate . We were busy looking for place . Since our experience with planet fitness was not good in the past . We went soon and asked if they can hold the connection until we get a new place and later we can move to another planet fitness near my place . We were referred to the call center, we spend long hours with the call centre with no success or solution . we had 5 months left with planet fitness . First month debit order went through . We kept trying . We moved to sandton and a new planet fitness was about to open there in 2 months time . So we asked planet fitness if they can hold the contract and move it to branch when its opened . We were happy paying transfer fee but not the per month hold charge . Debit order went through next month as well . This was actual fees and my issue is still outstanding . we tried calling call center trying to see if we can may be use remaining months somehow and now we get a response that the contract cannot be moved at all . We got annoyed after 2 months we were told it cannot be moved . So we asked about the cancellation of contract and we were told it was not possible either . Third month debit order went through as well . Now i was really annoyed, i reversed debit order and sent a note to planet fitness to contact me if they wanted money . Finally i get a call and we had a half an hour talk and the gentleman said he will call me back after checking with his manager . I never got a call after . 3 Months later i get a call from the collection department called "saya" . I thought may be its time to get some help . I explained my whole story . The first suggestion from her was pay it off and close the case . After me insisting for some sort of justice that i would love to seek for what i have been . She said she will send me a from to fill and I can challenge or something . This happened in the month of September 2018 . Someone else from “saya” called me next month we spoke the same thing again and again and again . I got a call last week and this time I realised I am not getting any help anymore . We had same discussion and I was told that my credit rating will be impacted if don’t pay off . she agreed I am right but there is nothing much anyone can do . At the end of the day I had to pay the fees+legalcharges+closure charges which was over and above what I was suppose to pay . This is called White collar crime . planet fitness got close to 2k from me and I haven’t even used the service for 4 to 5 months . ***** salesmen , *********** manager who doesn’t have guts to accept their stuff up and finally collections team “saya” who only threaten people ( credit ratings) and collect money . DO NOT GO TO PLANET FITNESS . This might be a small amount but imagine the number of times this happens and amount of profit these guys make . Just because we were eluded to sign a contract we are held for ransom and there is nothing that could save you .
