Amended contract???

So after putting a review up on here last week, I received this reply (which still did not answer the many questions I had):

"Dear Member

Kindly find the copy of your contract and see what member has signed for.

Further more if member wants to change the debit order date member needs to call the call center to change it. Membership at the moment its in arrears of R***

Also if member wants to cancel the membership member will need to call the call center to cancel the membership and member will be quoted a settlement fee cause the contract its still within minimum duration.

Yours in Fitness

Planet Fitness"

This was the first time I was notified of my account being in arrears. I also didn't receive any banking details regarding the money I owe/to pay a settlement fee.

I then asked to see my contract and it was forwarded to me from customer service. This contract contained information from another contract I had at another branch two years ago - the information has changed since - and I obviously would not have put old information on my new contract. This contract had the correct start date and consultant information. It also contained a page with tickboxes where the 'Charge Date' was ticked, with the letters N/A next to it - so discussing the charge date with the customer is not applicable then?

I then went to the Just Gym Bellville Branch and also asked for my contract from them. I asked for a hard copy, but all I got was one printed from their system. This contract did not have my signature ANYWHERE. It also contained old information that I never gave to this branch, and it also contained a different consultant name.

They were also nice enough to print a statement for me. The amounts I enquired about did not show on their system or statement for me, and I still do not have an answer as to why two amounts were taken from my account.

I think I now have a reason to believe that Planet Fitness keeps old information/ signed contracts and uses it to their benefit when necessary? Seeing as my contract at the branch was not signed and the one customer services gave me was signed..?

I am not accusing Planet Fitness of ***** - I think people can decide that for themselves.

But why is my information like this on your system? And why are there two contracts, one signed and one not signed by me, with the same dates and different consultant names..?

Also, my statement has a different start of contract date on it, dating 25 - 06 - 2014. This means I can cancel my contract as it has technically been two years now, yes?

I spoke to the branch manager on Friday and showed him both contracts, and all he could say was "what the ****", with which I agree 100%. He said he would sort it out by 12h00 today, which obviously didn't happen.

I do not want to give Planet Fitness any more money - I can spend it much better elsewhere.

I do not want to be contacted by a customer service agent - I want to speak to someone a little higher up who can EXPLAIN to me what is going on as customer service and the cgm cannot answer any of my questions.

I want answers, and after that I want to cancel my contract.
